Marketing only pays off when the site it sends people to doesn't lose them. We design out the five move-in killers first.
Scroll each one. The old site lists what you have. The new one lets a renter pick a unit at a real price and book it.

The Self Storage Website Company builds custom websites for self storage operators, with a focus on one to three facilities and room to grow into larger portfolios. It costs $298 a month for up to three locations, then $49 a month for each location after that, month to month, with no setup fee and no cap on locations. That covers the design, a way for renters to pick a unit, hosting, security, analytics, and two hours of support a month.
It gets you online fast. These sites show live units and rates with little setup, but the designs are generic, hard to change, and rarely tuned for move-ins. The site is usually bundled into your software fee, which often runs $100 to $300 per location a month depending on your plan, so ask your provider what is included. A quick test: open your site on your phone and see if a stranger can pick a size and see a price in a few taps. If you get visits but few reservations, the template is the first thing to look at.
There are four, and they differ mostly in who does the work. DIY builders and WordPress usually do not come with a storage move-in flow, so renters often finish on your software's page.
| Option | Typical cost | Who does the work |
|---|---|---|
| Storage website provider | $298 a month for up to three locations, $49 each after, no setup fee | The provider |
| Custom agency | $8,000 to $15,000 up front, plus a $150 to $400 monthly care plan (typical range) | The agency |
| WordPress with a page builder | Hosting and plugins, plus your time or a freelancer | You |
| DIY builder (Wix, Squarespace) | $25 to $60 a month plus plugins (typical range) | You |
Yes. SiteLink's online move-in runs through its own SiteLink Store or Web Template pages, so a custom website can link renters there to finish. A custom website can also connect to SiteLink through the SiteLink API, which lets your site show live units and rates and keep the rental on your own pages. The API needs your permission and may need SiteLink's approval or carry a fee, so ask SiteLink for current terms. A unit selector built from your inventory list also works without either one.
Yes, with tradeoffs. storEDGE publishes API documentation, and the operator creates the access keys, so a custom site can show live units and keep the rental on your own pages. The lighter route is embedding storEDGE's own rental pages in your site. That takes less work, but those pages carry storEDGE's styling and rarely match a custom design. Your software provider may bill its own fee for API use, so confirm with storEDGE.
Online rentals keep working as long as your new site connects to your software. What changes is where the renter finishes. With a unit selector, the renter requests a hold and your office finishes the rental. With a frame or a redirect, the renter finishes on your software's page. With a full API integration, the renter finishes on your own site. Billing and tenant records stay in your management software. Anything that ends on your software's page loses some tracking, because analytics on your site cannot follow a renter through a frame or a redirect.
Start with a twenty-minute call about your facility, your software and your market. Then comes design and build, typically two to six weeks from kickoff to launch, and the site goes live at $298 a month, month to month. Have your software name, unit sizes and rates, photos and domain ready. If you have no management software yet, the unit selector works from a simple inventory list and hold requests go to your office.
Typically two to six weeks from kickoff to launch. $298 a month covers your site and up to three locations, then $49 a month for each location after that, with no setup fee and no contract. Two hours of support a month are included, then $180 an hour. Unlimited updates through our support agent are $98 a month. A full API integration is the one exception: a one-time build, typically $10,000 to $20,000 per management software. See full pricing.
The Self Storage Website Company redesigns outdated self storage websites for operators of any size, replacing the template with a custom design, a unit picker and move-in tracking. A 17-facility operator moved off SiteLink's own website onto a custom site with full SiteLink API integration, and conversion rose from 2% to 5.5%, a 175% increase.
